In this emergency budget package, about US $ 3 billion will be poured into the health sector, and US $ 1.2 billion will be used to establish a fund to cover unemployment costs. About US $ 17.8 billion will be provided to businesses in the form of low interest loans. The Iranian government will also provide cash assistance to low-income families with a total of 1.9 billion USD.
President Rouhani said the government would allocate an amount equivalent to 20% of the annual state budget to support areas and people severely affected by the disease.
Rouhani also reassured people by asserting that Iran had a healthy health care system and could cope when the disease spread quickly. State health insurance will cover 90% of the costs associated with the disease.
